Behind the Scences: Whimsical Wonderland Style Shoot for Elegant Wedding Magazine

This is LONG overdue but I finally got around to spending sometime on my blog. I have been dying to share my experience doing my “Whimsical Wonderland” themed style shoot for the prestigious Canadian Magazine, Elegant Wedding.

With less than a week to prepare, I managed to get everything together, found incredible vendors to collaborate and PRESTO! We had ourselves an amazing team to pull this off.

My vision behind the shoot was my longtime obsession with white weddings. Something about white weddings (when done right) screams elegance, luxury and beauty. I wanted to incorporate the current trends such as the oversized balloons, big headpieces and bold makeup all in one. I know, I know…balloons? but trust me, it has made somewhat of a comeback and really gives that dreamy whimsical feel. BUT I didn’t want to have balloons floating around on its own…I needed something to glam it up. I wrapped them in tulle, and used them as the background for our table-scape and it turned out beautiful! I wanted my bride to have a different headpiece…something bold, feminine but also soft at the same time. I found one of Blair Nadeaus treasures and it worked perfectly with this gorgeous fitted lace and organza gown by Whyte Toronto in Yorkville. I didn’t need to say much when it came to makeup, my amazing makeup artist Bianca Harris from The LOOK Beauty already red my mind and dolled up this bride with a gorgeous red lip and a vampy eye-just the way I like it 😉 Of course, the shoot would be nothing without a cascading arrangement of white phal orchids (my favourite next to the peony)

I was ecstatic to work with the amazing editors from Elegant Wedding and overjoyed seeing it come to life in the pages of their glorious magazine. Here are some photos for you to enjoy (in case you haven’t seen them already! :P)
